autohelm st400

does anyone know where I can find a ST4000 autohelm. I think the control head is fried on mine. I did try ebay and found a ST 4000+ but then it was sold before i had a chance to buy it. Can it be replaced with a ST6000?

Re: autohelm st400

You can not use the ST6000 in place of a ST4000. The ST6000 is simply a control head where the ST4000 is a combined "computer" and control head.

Any of the 4000 series instruments can be used. The problem is finding one. Raymarine has none. All you can do is haunt ebay, Craig's List, and put the word out here and all the other boards. I sold my spare head last year to needy sailor. If you can find an X5 computer and control head, your compass will work with that.

Re: autohelm st4000

I have a complete used one that I was going to put for sale on my local marine classified ads, for $450, If you are interested you can PM me

Attached is the picture of the actual kit.

I had to remove it from our new to us sailboat, because it exceeded the maximum displacement of the autopilot.

Apocalypso:

Do you still have the Autohelm / Raymarine ST 4000 for sale?

Thank you
