Auto helm 3000(analog)

Cleaning out more electronics on my boat and I found the old autopilot(AH3000 analog) It has 2 belts and seems to work when I put power to it ..Is it worth keeping as a backup to a newer type..Does analog mean obsolete and therefore will not work in todays digital world? Thanks in advance for any info...DVC

they are great little units!
keep it,i have one i take on deliveries if needed
it will even steer my 63 ft yacht!

things that fail are the brushes in the small motor, belts when driving a large boat, and the plastic drive cog for the belt.

analog means you wont have to worry about all your interfaced units failing at once!

makes it steer to wind direction rather than course,so it acts like a windvane self steering
