Apple iphone 14 offers satellite SOS texting
Looks like the rumored capability has been announced. Right now, it's only available within the US, PR, and USVI. Likely limited by regulations and/or frequencies used.

I hope this will expand beyond the US soon. I also wonder about the waters between continental US and the USVI? Presumably there is coverage, but the software may geo-lock it.

Yeah I assume it will be geo locked.
