Anyone know where I can get one?

The battery for my Standard Horizon handheld VHF is a "Lithium-Ion Battery Pack FNB - 121LI". The one in my handheld "expanded" (puffed up) while in the radio and was difficult to remove. I can't get one from Standard Horizon and the ads on the internet are either bogus or out-of-stock.

P.S. Standard Horizon customer care was useless beyond belief. They said "We no longer make that. Try to find one on the internet." The radio is less than five years old. Do they expect me to throw the functioning radio in the garbage and start new? Do they really think I would buy one of theirs again? I understand that they can't stock all of their parts forever. But even a conciliatory gesture like some kind of small discount coupon would be welcome. It's the principle.

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

Discontinued and tough to find it seems everywhere I look.

You could probably dissemble and replace the cells if you are handy. Or use the FBA-38 Alkaline Battery Tray. Maybe there is an ICOM part number?

Not quite the answer, but if none show up, maybe one of these options will help.

Good luck.

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

Mine is an HX851 same thing, battery "puffed" up, got it out and it's not going back in. Comes up everywhere on an internet search but no one actually has any. I've got some $100 handhelds have lasted decades and this POS packed it in because no batteries. Just venting and wish the battery had vented maybe.

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

It is easy to get a replacement for any battery as long as you have the original battery. Bring the battery to any Battery Plus or Battery Shop that rebuilds and or builds batteries. They will be able to make you a new battery in the same configuration that you currently have. I suggest that you do bring the Handheld with you when you go to pick up the battery just to make sure that it does fit and operate. I have personally done this for tools, radio sets, in-cased components and every time I have been able to get a new battery created.

I hope this helps.

This is great. Thanks. I hope the battery doesn’t cost as much as a new radio?

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

Budget Marine St martin. I bought mine there in June and it does work although had a manufacture date of 2018 on it. There website still shows as available.

I have had battery packs for small components like that rebuilt before but I could not see how this one came apart so gave up.

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

Locally here in halifax we have a business that will make batteries to order. I am sure there is one in your area. I had one made (for a different radio) , wasslightly more expensive but two was cheaper so I now have spare.

Can't find anyone to rebuild the battery. FNB-121LI. Do you have the name of someone who does?

Re: Anyone know where I can get one?

I just did a quick search and it appears that a replacement for your battery
is readily available here in Europe.
Just a random one I clicked on this : https://www.subtel.ch/index.php?cl=d...AaAhTWEALw_wcB

Sorry, got fooled, that's a 105 not a 121!
