Any Ideas

Hi

can anyone advise as to what the black device (left hand side ) might be? The lead disappears into the "abyss" of wiring and I can not find where it comes out. Therefore can not work out what it does. The shipwrights where she is currently having her nappy changed doesn't know either?

Could it be an antenna for satellite radio?

Re: Any Ideas

Certainly looks like an antenna. The top shape is very similar to one I had for a Garmin GPS years ago.

Re: Any Ideas

fluxgate compass sensor for an autopilot?

Does it have any writing on it at all?

Possibly a transducer for communicating with the Aetherians as they approach from outer space?

How about a closeup pic... might possibly help.

Good luck!

Jim

Re: Any Ideas

Not particularly maritime, but it could also be simply an antenna for a digital radio receiver.

Wrap it with aluminum foil and see what stops working.

Re: Any Ideas

Hi All

thank you for you input, I will take Jim Cate's advise and take a close up tomorrow and post, hopefully I can do it before the Aetherians get within radio range. Although I hear that the Raliens are already orbiting earth and awaiting for their embassy to be completed.

Cheers

Almost certain that is a Garmin GPS antenna, if not, it's a dead ringer
