Alpha Testers Wanted - Reloaded :)

Looking for testers to kick tires of yet another application.

PolarCOM is an integrated NMEA 0183 marine navigation instrument data bridge and multipurpose data display. Available for Apple Mac OS X and Windows systems, it provides:

* Support for multiple NMEA 0183 data sources and instrument types
* TCP and UDP network server support permits sharing your NMEA 0183 data with network-enabled navigation software. (Personally I tested with a few production packages, which I will not name to avoid promoting competition )
* NMEA data logging and replay capability
* Customizable set of digital instruments for data display, providing virtually infinite combinations of views (which actually look a little better than text boxes).

The current version is 0.1 ALPHA - still has that new car smell

We are very much interested in feedback - in particular on types of information (both NMEA data and display values) you are most interested to see added next. This product would also benefit from being tried with various real world devices - the more the better.

Visit Polar Navy and follow to products page to see screenshots and to Polar Navy to download.

It's been not quite a year since - but we were not idle during that time.

In case you were following the progress, a few releases of our products were made in the meantime.

A new release of version 1.2 is available. This is a stable release that brings a number of updates to the previous version, primarily based on user feedback.
This release also marks the complete update of our Linux applications, bringing chart, GRIB, tides & currents viewers, as well as NMEA instruments and live GPS navigation to Linux.

If you are using our previous version, we recommend an update to version 1.2 - it may make your navigation experience that much better. If you are not - we welcome new users. You feedback, as always, is appreciated.
