AIS - Transponder Only, no receiver

Currently, my VHS is equipped with MMSI, DCS and dual channel AIS receiver capabilities.
All work well with my Chartplotter / NMEA2000.

My question:
Is there an AIS Transponder that simply sends and doesn't receive?
or, if not
If I were to install an AIS Transponder that sends and receives, how would I install it without a conflict with the current VHS/AIS?

I'm wondering if I may have an issue with my VHS AIS warning me of me, or is this a non issue.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

If the AIS implementation in the VHF is good, it should recognize and ignore your own MMSI.

That's what I was thinking, but I had just read an article suggesting otherwise.

Transceivers typically ignore own MMSI. Receive only may or may not.

I have had issues with some products with 2 ais. I think it was a garmin vhf picking up own boat and showing on plotter, despite both having the same mmsi entered. but I just shut off the ais fuction of the vhf.

Options vary depending on the VHF. Some may ignore own MMSI, but others certainly do not. Some allow disabling the internal AIS receiver and using AIS data from NMEA, others do not.
On some VHF models, the only option is to disconnect them from NMEA and let them operate independent. If you want to use DSC calling from the chartplotter, that won't work.
Another "option" I have met a few sailors who thought seeing their own ship was normal, as they knew their AIS was transmitting. They had issues with AIS in the past and it gave them comfort. It bugged me, but they insisted I leave it as is.
