Airmar 110WX Transducer: What’s Your Experience?

I’m considering replacing the wind sensor at the masthead with the Airmar 110WX but I’d like to hear from people who have used the product first. Anyone?

Fair winds and calm seas.

Mine has been fine for the past 1-3 years. It’s the most sensible version to me. I already have a good GPS,heading sensor, etc, and don’t need another, let alone want to pay for it.

I have been thinking of this device too. I wonder if the 200wx would give more accurate true wind than the chart plotter given that the movements are being sensed at the same position at the top of the mast. But maybe that is more accuracy than we need.

Re: Airmar 110WX Transducer: What’s Your Experience?

I put a pb200, the predecessor to the 200wx, at the masthead on my last boat, a Sabre 34. I absolutely loved it, and miss it terribly now that I have a Raymarine whirly gig. Purists contend that there are accuracy and latency issues. Maybe, but I never sensed any inaccuracy. I found it exceptionally reliable, physically bulletproof (and osprey proof) and can't find anything negative to say about it.
