advice needed

I am in a full stop here! I have a customer that is having reception problems with there ssb.The antenna is a backstay and the cables from ssb to tuner,tuner to antenna and the copper foil to ground were changed an still the same prob! he said from the time it was installed it had that problem!

Not sure how handy you are, but classic trouble shooting involves eliminating everything that's unnecessary and tracking down faults, i.e., adding/removing/swapping. If you have a simple dipole, you can eliminate the backstay, tuner, and ground from the equation.

It might be a problem with the radio itself, but swapping radios isn't as easy as swapping antennas. Try eliminating the easy stuff first. Good luck...

Had problems with my SSB and contacted the local Ham Radio group. Two radio geeks came over and spent four hours going over the whole system, found a loose connection and we had a great time. The extent of their knowledge and expertise was amazing, just listening to them gave me a headache. And they will not take money, they do it for fun.
