Adding remote helm to low-end Raymarine tiller autopilot

Just looking for a way to control going into irons for sail adjustment while single handed. Curious if this soothing that can be done on the low end of the Raymarine product line.

Raymarine do, or used to make a wireless remote autopilot control.

Re: Adding remote helm to low-end Raymarine tiller autopilot

Are you planning on having the engine running whilst doing this? If not and you go into irons the boat will eventually stop and fall back, one way or the other. I don't see how the tiller pilot can control the boat if its not moving forward with the sails are flapping whilst you adjust them.

With the engine running slowly, a couple of dabs of the 10+ will put you in irons but the engine will provide the drive to keep the boat going on a steady course whilst you adjust or reef the sails.

There are some home made remotes which have been discussed on here before, perhaps 4 years ago. Sailorchic34 built one.
