Sure charlie no problem.

If you do not want to go the cheap route of a regulator that you just solder on-to yourself, going the way suggested above of a more expensive DC-DC converter would maybe be the way to go, as they are premade with bare wires ready to connect to.

Charlie,
One more thing to note:
The voltage coming out of the transformer will probably read way high without the load attached. Check with the load as well before your head explodes from confusion!
