Re: your Ignore list
Friends one can always welcome, accepted. But I'll pass on you advice as to how my time here can be more enjoyable and productive. Suggests you have superior insight as to what is "productive" and "enjoyable" for others. I'm quite satisfied with my contributions to cruisersforum. As far as finding happiness here? Not a reason I come here. I get that from relating to real people, not personnas. No way to know if anyone who comes here is 'real'.

Wrong,
You are misunderstanding me. I do not mean to offer you unsolicted advice but if you have a question as to why or what that is setting people off, I can only try. I am NOT suggesting superior insight, merely a different insight. If you can only find happiness relating to "real" people rather than "personnas" than I can't imagine any forum that will help you achieve that happiness. There are people here with genuine knowledge and experience and then there are those that post BS. You will quickly learn the difference. But if you regard all of us unreal, why bother being here? You must certainly have criteria for deciding who is for real and who is not, apply it. If you regard me as unreal, or not wanting you here, that is your choice and I will respect it, go ahead and reject me as "friend" or place me on ignore. I'm trying to make an effort to welcome you to our community, that is all. If this offends you then cancel the friend status, I have been a loner all my life. My job was as an exploration geologist, I could happily go for months without talking to anyone but my dog. I have offered you the hand of friendship, the ball is in your court.

Re: your Ignore list
No idea what the ignore list is. I ignore all the ads, though. My eyes are trained not too look towards ad spaces. Every now and then, I can tell that a sailor has his necktie on too tight and won't let go of an argument no matter what; I wish that there would be a button that I can press...and that sailor would be dunked in a tub of molasses. Aside of that, there are a lot of fine people, on here, that I'd like someday to invite and go sailing with them. A very long list of nice folks; you know who you are.

I put myself on my ignore list so I can't see the stupid things I write.

Re: your Ignore list
I have a few on my list. Not out of anger or resentment. Mostly out of not being willing, at this stage and age of my life, to put up with anyone's mean spirited BS. I'm new here and also new to forums in general. I got carried away responding to a op and had my post deleted and it was explained to me that the rule was to be nice. I got it and will abide by the rules. Happily. But at the same time I was, I feel abused in a thread and had my character questioned and called name's as in dishonest, ignorant, troll. I had to look up the last one, definitely not me. What to do? Nothing. These people were all long standing members with 1000+/- posting's. It's pointless to argue with mean spirited people. So the thing to do is back away. And the ignore list is the way to do it. I'm not looking to be agreed with nor am I interested in joining an elite subgroup. I'm here for, fellowship, support, as in both ways, help when I need it, and ask for it. And if I can be usefull to other's, good. If I should go too far please feel free to PM me and let me know. I am not here to be disrespected or mocked. There's a quote that I have carried as my creed when it come's to interaction's with others, It's by Fritz Pearls, "I am not here to live up to your expectation's. Nor are your here to live up to mine. If we can meet it's beautiful, if we can't, it can't be helped." If this sort of post troubles you, by all means send me to your ignore list, I will not be offended.
