And you should also note that 'private messages' are not private AT ALL

Not sure what you mean by that. The only person who can see your PMs is you.

LOL, No worries at all. We are talking about boats right
That rain thingy in the northwest would drive anyone crazy.
I myself I'm suffering with clear blue skies and 75 degrees in the boat. Its a tough life.

This is correct. Only the sender and the recipient can read them unless one of those two wishes to send it elsewhere.

Hi, Coops,
Good to hear that.
____________
SailorChic,
I'm sorry someone wrote that to you. It may not have hurt you, but still was entirely (IMO) uncalled for.
Name calling seems quite five year old-ish to me. Surely no adult, responsible human needs to write to someone that she is an a**, unless said adult is impaired in some way.

I guess we need to leave it at that then dont we..........
Miss Sailorchic34 is my favourite 60 miles a week person.
I too have received an email informing me of my status in life before being placed on an ignore list. I was too busy laughing to be irritated. I watch him upset peeople all the time...one day he will go too far.
Napoleon, as in Bonaparte said:
"Never stand in the way of an enemy when he is making a mistake".

Re: Your Ignore List
I think what upsets SB is that SC keeps posting on "his" 5k a month thread. I smile every time I get the email notice cuz SC don't need no stinkin' 5K/mo, and is not shy about pointing that out. I suspect that does annoy some of the big buckers in Sausalito too, where she logs her 60 milles a week and they log 60 miles a year.
Still, it is disappointing to hear of someone behaving so poorly as to drop a nasty PM on anyone. Sneaky anonymous attacks, sucker punches, and sniping are déclassé. If you have to Goggle that, I'm probably talking about you.

Uh ... for all your apparent certainty, apparently you don't know, Jack.
Why jump in at all?

the messages are stored in the database, anyone can see them if they can access the database. I've run websites, I can see all the private messages. And just may I ask, what did you add with your message?

Yep. All that woody talk on the bluewater thread, then a sly exchange on the vegan thread combined to get me thinking about sowing some uh ... wild oats. So all up, I managed to be as unproductive as usual. That's what I'm really good at.

Excellent...
Actually.. on the vbulletin boards... if an adminstrator, not a mod, is handy with the coding... you used to be able to read the PMs with
acp->run query-> select * from pmtext
phpmyadmin can usually read everything as well.
Its not just as straight forward as Ive just explained and it takes effort, and to be honest on this board......... who the heck wants to!
I cant imagine ANYONE dredging through PMs for the fun of it....

Gotcha. Makes sense. I just didn't think the mods would. They're just folks too.
I hope Jack comes back to explain that cryptic comment he made cus I haven't a clue what he meant.
Back on topic, isn't it fascinating that there are some posters ya never agree with ... just the fact that they posted something at all is irritating as hell. I've tried ignoring them but that's tough too.
