Kidding aside....... his dinghy has some of the best chaps I've ever seen.

You should really tell us all where they came from...........?

Edit: can you post a photo, so people will see what I mean?

At the time, I was working most days down in the lazarette, rebuilding my auto-pilot mount for the trip back to Florida, complete with many dropped tools and associated cursing. At one point, I stuck my head up, dripping with sweat, dazed from the heat, and Biff was standing there on the dock.

He looked like he was approaching my vessel to say something like, "I say, my dear man, your atrocious language is offending my female accessory" or something like, but he made eye contact with me, seemed to think better of it, and turned on his heel to return to the air-conditioned lounge of his yacht. It still makes me chuckle.
Years age we were at a yacht club on the Hudson. The Commodore was dressed like that. While sitting at the bar my mother said, "That's a beautiful daughter you have." You can figure it out from there.

I've spent time on superyachts and at superyacht marinas and certainly see women dressed like the ones in these pictures, but definitely not the guys.

Re: Yacht Wear: Anybody Dress Like This?

More seriously, growing up in Bermuda, there were some expectations to dress appropriately at events.

Here's Peter Bromby who I grew up with in Somerset.

And here he is while sailing.

As kids it was a torn t shirt and cutoff jeans all summer.

Those aren’t chaps. Chaps don’t have a butt.

More my style.

Re: Yacht Wear: Anybody Dress Like This?

I like to model in in my well-worn swim shorts, tattered t-shirt..sweat imbued baseball cap, several tattoo's, smelly sneakers and a cold beverage in hand....

Do you think I should send the modeling agency some photo's... ???

My wife thinks I'm " cute"....that should count for something...

Re: Yacht Wear: Anybody Dress Like This?

arriving in Bermuda.....it's not uncommon to see a local male wearing the " Bermuda shorts", usually white, ironed and creased in all the appropriate places......socks up the knees, black shoes, shirt...and....jacket !!!

for that matter....a trip to Scotland will have you find a local Scots wearing a kilt instead of the shorts, but otherwise all the other paraphanalia as described above....bagpipes are optional....
