Where Is Galaxy Girl?
So, whats the story? Her blog is not current and she is nowhere to be heard from on the forums? did she finally come to her senses or is she still in a holding pattern regarding the property? If she's in a holding pattern, I am surprised she has not posted here trying to build her knowledge as she was before..

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
Funny you should ask. I thought about inquiring if anybody collected her $5000 reward
She will either return with sea adventure stories or fade into the night as just another passing galaxy. Personally, I think she had those many followers here in the forums snookered

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
This thread is a wee bit stalker-ish. Maybe she just got burned out on CF?

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
She sounds like a good woman and probably just needs a break from CF and all the naysayers who tried to torpedo her dreams. I, for one, support anyone who wants to break out of the landlocked mold and go for it... I wish her well. Phil

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
Torpedo her dreams? If a little dose of cold, hard reality once in a while is all it takes to "torpedo her dreams" then they had to have been pathetically frail dreams to begin with, and would have fallen apart at the first real challenge anyway.
But I don't think her dreams were as flimsy as you seem to believe. I suspect that she has just had other issues in life to deal with, and that's why she hasn't been posting lately.
Either way, I wish her well.

Dreams? Living on a boat with 5 kids??? No experience at all with boat? Spending big bucks needed to accommodate all.....and no, not investing big bucks because boats are not an investment.
Reads more like a NIGHTMARE to me. One of her properly named threads identifies much about her ......"COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED!"

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
Uh, I've read her posts too, she sounds like she was catching up on the learning curve pretty fast.
Wonder why there isn't a thread about some guy, who has no experience, who wants to buy a big boat, and hasn't been heard from in a while? There are plenty.
Maybe they found a man too.

Re: Where Is Galaxy Girl?
I have support GG from the very beginning and still due. The reason is my wife and I did basically did the same thing. We were newbies/wantabeis with little/no knowledge experience to own a 58 ft boat and or live on it. Took us 3 years from looking for a boat to becoming a live aboard. We wanted a dock condo on Lake Union town down Seattle. So it can be done with enough conviction, money and time.
GG would have done/made the move, if she did not insist the boat had to be a a blue water, ocean crossing boat, which priced somewhat her out of the marke.
She stopped posting on other sites that were more negative long before CF. I wish her the best.
