What happened to your feet when you gave up the foot prisons?

Contains medical stuff, don't read if that grosses you out.

All summer I've been working on my boat, but at a marina. So bringing the dogs to shore involved a dock. And sometimes, I'd go live in a dirt boat... Er house. I largely tramped around in bare feet, or sandals.

Now I've been cruising for just a hot minute, a little over two weeks. Still always barefoot on the boat, sandals for shore. But I've traded beaches for docks and no more dirt boats. That means more than once a day I'm probably standing in water to beach or launch a boat. In that time though, my calluses seem to be sloughing off, hands and feet. I treat with moisturizer every 24-48 hours. Did this happen to anyone else when you started full time cruising?
