I think I posted the last time when my husband and I were looking to buy our first
boat. We got really exited about a Tartan 27 and so much more disappointed after looking at it. The
boat was a dump and I had almost given up hope to find anything sailable within our
budget.
Only a couple of days later I saw a Spirit 28 on ebay and decided to put in a bid. Sure enough, I got the boat and we have been spending every available weekend on it. New
sails, new
cushions, tools, covers, tops, you name it. Unfortunately, the owner died and the son had to get rid of the boat. It has been very well taken care of and our 3 girls are stoked.
We have been up and down the Cape Fear several times and just started to sail out into open waters. So far we have been about 8 miles out, next weekend we plan on spending a day bottom
fishing about 10 miles out or so (weather permitting).
Next on the plan is a trip to
Beaufort, with a stop somewhere in Sneads
Ferry, Topsail Beach or
Jacksonville. Hopefully we can get that in this year, if not maybe next spring.
