Good and true. Maybe they are not perfect but they are certainly more reliable in their reporting than American news media. CBC used to be a good news source and is based on the BBC tradition.

Perhaps the best and most reliable news source today is Al Jazeera.

Re: Viglante police in mexico

This is the response when people cannot live as decent human beings because of a corrupt and ineffective government, corrupt police and criminal gangs who operate at will throughout the country. Mexico is a lost cause and kudos to the brave citizens who have had enough of living in anarchy. It will only get worse.

Re: Viglante police in mexico

ok, here it is from a mexican national's point of view--these folks are citizens of state of guerrero and have relatives in the involved city....names will not be mentioned.
Quote:
the people were getting too tired of living under the thumb of the super corrupt state run policia there, and went for repairing their estado. they are good guys. the policia were, and still are , in that area, the bad guys.. como chiapas some years ago---is a cycle--the citizenry tires of corruption and oppression and rises up to fix it ..it lasts a while--usually some decades, then someone else complains somewhere else. is mexico. is not a danger to tuistas, as turistas are our livelihood.
the policia here in zihuatenejo are policia municipal, unrelated to the goings on in the targeted city. this is a tranquil area, especially now the turistas are gone. is no longer turista season. is summer.

this is not an isolated incident nor is it something turistas need to become concerned about, as is an improvement in certain areas. positive change generally occurs with these conditions.

is a lil overstated to call mexico anarchy. there is a system here. unlike a true anarchy, somalia.
