Vale Monte

It is with a very heavy heart that I submit this thread.
Monte, a long term member here and moderator has had a heart attack and died.

His partner Jen is currently in Bequia.

Jen, we extend our deepest sympathy. Monte will be terribly missed.
Is there anything we can do to help?

Angela

Re: Vale Monte

I am shocked and very saddened. He looks much too young and healthy to go so suddenly. My deepest sympathies to Jen and all the family. He was a great asset to the forum and I will miss his posts.

Re: Vale Monte

So very sad for all who knew him. I bought their Sephina 1, the lovely 380 lagoon that they sailed together in, and then preparing for their round the world trip in their new 400. I feel a special connection with both of them, and a deep sadness for the dream that is shattered. Life is precious, love like this is rare. My heart is open wide for the healing that Jen will receive from her sailing community and from those who loved Rob.
I honor the wonderful experience that you and Rob created for me with Sephina 1.
Thank you!

Our deepest sympathy to Jen. We hope that even though Rob's life was tragically cut short, he died doing what he loved best. I'll miss his words of wisdom, but are grateful for the interaction that we had. Vale Monte.

Re: Vale Monte

I am in absolute utter shock that this terrible news has come ... A man I know very little intimate detail of, but a great deal from the outside as well as our discussions... A man I admired greatly, and envied even more...

Probably not the way he would see it, but it makes him that much more admirable...

I'm at a loss... And can only offer my sincerest thoughts and wishes...

Jen, if there is absolutely anything I or the rest of the CF team can do... We are here for any request no matter how small or large it may seem...

We are family... We are here... Let us help...

Ed

We, too, new monte only at a a distance, from posts on CF. Still, we know what it means to lose loved ones, and i wanted to extend, cloyed as it may be, our deepest sympathies; I know to the very bottom of my soul, this isn't a fun time. Do, please, feel free to ask whatever help of us you may want.

Ether hugs,

Ann

From Sue and I, we would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to Jen and Montes familey. We can only echo all the sentiments that have been stated so deservedly in regard to Monti. Its a mark of the person who you have never met except via this site yet that you feel you have known them for years. Rest in peace Monte, you are going to be missed.

Re: Vale Monte

Ive been sat here for 15 minutes trying to find words that will express something of worth or comfort.

I cant.

I can say that the man lived the life he wanted in the manner of his choice and with the person he wanted to be with. Few of us get to do that.

You did good Monte.

You will be missed.

Bless your life mate.

Add no adverse current and blue skies and the occasional fish hookup and we're good to go!
Enjoy this in fiddlers green. Fair winds and fine fish.

Sounds like Monte lived life as it should be lived. A very sad loss.
