Vacuflush Head

1996 Searay 45 Sundancer - Vacuflush Head not working - water does not drain out of the bowl when the foot pump is depressed. Boat is equipped with 2 heads - separate pumps (1 head is working fine). Where is the circuit breaker? Could it be a blown fuse? I'm thinking it is probably clogged but want to rule other possibilities out first. Thanks.

Re: Vacuflush Head

The fuse is where the owner placed it. Most of the time on the electric board. No fuses within the pump unit.

Simple testing by decompressing then feeding DC directly to the terminals.

They have only two failure modes: either not running while decompressed or running when compressed (that is, vacumed). ;-)

Have fun,
b.

Re: Vacuflush Head

If the water level is fluctuating or "pumping" slightly when the valve is open there is probably something caught in the first duckbill valve before the pump, keeping it open. This prevents a suction from developing. Fairly easy to clean without mess.
