We're not quite as complicated, but have learned to be quite mobile with our stuff.
We have our boat in
Newfoundland (which is home). But we spend the cold months house sitting or motorcycling around the continent. For this we use our little
Honda Fit as the mobile base. Everything we need for
winter life and travel has to fit in the Fit.
We each have a small duffle bag of clothes. This is supplemented with a smaller bag of
winter garb since we mostly stay in
Canada for the cold months. The car carries a small compliment of tools, along with necessary bedding, tents, and basic kitchen items, including plates, bowls, cutlery, spice wrack and of course, wine glasses.
We carry a couple of small portable coolers to make travel more affordable. And that's about it. With this we can live comfortably, and fairly independently, on or off the boat.
