Thread locking and not the Loctite type!
I would like to make a respectful suggestion to the moderators with respect to locking threads. There have recently been a couple of threads locked up which had thread drift to the political side from some posts which I think still had legs.
My participation in these threads was not political in nature and largely had to do with sharing thoughts both ways with lots of people I respect and who have input that may shape my thinking. It is very easy for me to avoid discussions that focus on left vs. right politics if I choose or to just disregard these kinds of posts.
My request would be for the moderators to provide input to the posters driving the discussion in that direction instead of just locking it down so none of us can participate any more.
