We're planning to FINALLY leave Ensenada next week. We pulled in here for a couple days last MAY but
Hurricane Bud formed up really early and we pulled the
plug on our southward travel until this fall.
We just finished the
SSB installation (WORKS!) and the
watermaker installation (WORKS!) and we made the last list before we can leave for Vallarta last night. This will be our biggest jump yet, about 1000 miles by the time it's done and our first series of overnighters.
Here's the list-
Fix a small hole in the port side aft near the
rubrail
Get visas and exit papers
Stock up on meds
Groceries
Make ginger syrup and candy (the best
sea sickness remedy on our boat)
Polish winches
Install the good main sail
Wash the whole
boat
And recharge the Telcel USB dongle
That's it! Either Tuesday night or Friday night, depending on a big swell that's allegedly due in on Friday, and we're off to the warm water! If we leave Tuesday night we can make it 300 miles into Turtle Bay by Thursday night before the 12-18 foot swell hits. If it hits.
