Didn't know that you were friend of his, bobconnie... I met him a couple of times where he lived on his island in the Gulf Islands in the PNW. Fine old gent! Was also aboard one his later personal creations called 'Toad', a little double ender that used to be in Port Townsend that I understand he built himself. The joinery below was unsurpassed. Owned by a couple who live in PT. He is truly an icon, not only in the Northwest but throughout the traditional sailing world... RIP, Bill... Capt Phil
