The Average Cruiser
Now that we're cruising, I've noticed many commonalities between people who are actually cruising and a lot of it is different than I expected while some is what I expected. Here are some of them.
The Average Cruiser-
Has a boat close to 40 feet.
Is part of a couple.
Is happy.
Is relaxed.
Has just enough money. Not a lot, just enough.
Is in their 50's or 60's.
Drinks.
Their boat doesn't look perfect.
Has radar.
Is on the internet often.
Eats out regularly but not fancy.
Drinks the water.
Has multiple navigation methods but mostly relies on GPS.
Doesn't smoke.
Is white.
Reads.
Likes to cook and eat.
Takes naps.
Works on the boat a little bit each day.
Watches the weather.
Likes to anchor.
Has a dog or cat.
Enjoys social gatherings.
Has an SSB.
I am sure that there are many more, but this is what I've seen.

Re: The Average Cruiser
21 out of 25 - not bad.
Fairly accurate.
How about this one: Enjoys walking marinas and looking at boats.

Re: The Average Cruiser
Well I never wanted to be average, but we're not cruising yet. Othwise we're missing the pet, SSB and radar. We'll be adding the radar and the SSB before we set out to cruise, but there will be no pets for us.
