This big thank you applies to all those men and women who serve and save others while in the world's various rescue services (e.g. USCG, RNLI, Lifeboats, Coast Guards).

I would like to give thanks to all those brave sailors who rescue others at sea and to those who man the shore stations too.

Whether by boat, lifeboat, merchantman, or aircraft, they all make the use of the seas safer for all mariners and sailors.

And I also thank those who developed and support and participate in the merchant marine AMVER program too, as numerous sailors are saved or helped at sea by merchantmen who divert to provide assistance.
