Tampa to Cuba

Hi casting off lines Sept 22nd weather permitting from tampa to cuba. Going straight through while its not a real crossing any advice would help as this is our first long trip non stop. Anyone done this trip before?

-what engine and rigging spares are a must?
-areas to avoid?
-provisions?
-immigration pointers?
-any and all advice is very welcome.
