And thank you for making me feel so welcome even though I know so little about sailing. You are a wonderful group.

I'm sure I will be back with some more specific questions over the next few weeks.

It can vary widely, we were out here last week from Roche Harbor to Victoria(gave up and went to Oak Harbor). On Tuesday we had 15-25kt winds with more waves than I was happy to be out in and then on Wednesday, it was mirror like.

A USCG officer named Cook served in the area on a USCG cutter during the Prohibition days. The USCG nuseun might well have USCG cutter logs to help flesh out your stories

The Museum at the Makah reservation might also have information. Another source might be the BC Nuseum in Victoria, BC.
