Staying on top

How do most people stay on top of what is being posted here. For example do you:
use the New Posts tab
use the Portal Tab
use only the Tab relative to specific forums

I do notice quite a lot of very very regular posters who seem to be frequently posting across the whole gambit of topics .Clearly keen to offer their opinion but obviously more spare time on their hands than me or a far better way of moving around the forum.
Maybe this is not coming out right so to be clear I am not commenting on their broad knowledge of all topics and desire to share that knowledge simply like to know how you all keep up.

Re: Staying on top

With the iPhone app there is a "timeline" which shows the posts with recent activity.

I think there is something similar on the website.

Re: Staying on top

I use the "User CP" tab first; this gets me to all the new posts of threads I have either posted to or subscribed since I last logged on plus it updates any "thanks" and PMs that have been received

Once that is clear, I use the "New Posts" tab which gets me any new post on any thread since I last logged on.

These two tabs give me almost all the access I want, I guess maybe more than 90% of what I want is found this way.

Re: Staying on top

First, either Quick Links/Subscribed Threads or User CP/Subscribed Threads to review messages in any threads where I've posted.

Then New Posts to skim through titles of everything else. (It's not uncommon for titles to be absolutely useless. Something "Help please" doesn't get my attention.)

This with a real browser. I found the vBulletin tablet/phone apps to be almost useless.

Re: Staying on top

Suggestion to the moderators: Use a permanent link to "New Posts" so it can be bookmarked. As it is, I have to click TWICE (the agony!) to get to posts new since my last logon.

Thanks,
Jack
