Some shots of this morning. I have a 12'6" sup that I want to go surfing on, and the local breaks around me suck for that. I heard that up north in Punta de Mita there are some nice waves so I packed my daughter up and we took the bus up there this morning.
On the way to the bus stop we walked past the butcher. On Wednesdays there is a market, and they take all the cow entrails, boil them, and make a soup.
The street market itself. This is in my town still. They do this every Wednesday.
We got dropped off in the little village/town of Punta de Mita and decided to catch breakfast first. For both of us the bill was $120 pesos, or maybe $9.
Local tienda. Note the
dogs on the roof. Viva la
Mexico.
Might be hard to see but basically to
water the landscape along the sides of the road this guy goes by with a super powerful
water hose, dousing the hell out of everything in his path.
The lineup was probably 3/4 standup guys, which is kind of cool. Waist/chest high, super clean long reef breaks.
You can see all the boats anchored out so now I know I can just take our sailboat over here. Will make for a nice couple of days mid week. Low tourists, nice break, all the comforts of home and some killer surfing next door.
I chatted this guy up after he got out of the water. He's a pro photographer and does a lot of surf shots. He gave me the skinny on all the breaks and what to do where and when.
