Re: Sock puppets
Built our own spreadsheets for the laminate lay-up schedule for a 68ft Airex cored glass bottom boat in 1971 on a Tandy from Radio Shack. Floated exactly to her lines when launched.

Another classical case would be if a member created a second identity for himself, which he used to agree with himself in arguments. I know that sounds sick ("don't you have a life, buddy?") but it happens all the time.
Suffice it to say that we have tools to detect both types of cases, but your reports are always appreciated.

Re: Sock puppets
I think that if there are sock puppets here, they are most likely to belong to the Cat people. If one identity gets sunk they have their second identity to keep them a float on the forum.

Re: Sock puppets
Interesting I never heard of the term till now but have seen its wide spread use on for example yahoo financial message boards. One guy would post how much he made using such and such news letter (with a link of course)and a bunch others would chime in how great it was. So obvious. How do I get my money back.....

Ah, a 'luggable'. I remember. Somewhere here there is an ex ATO laptop (an XT) with a lead acid battery. CGA IIRC. The Vax 6000 was not portable. 325Kg and that was just the computer, not including the HSC (Hierarchical Storage Controller) and the Hard drives, some of which were mains (240vac) powered. The Vax was originally 3 phase (415v) but I managed to convert it to single phase quite easily.
Again, somewhere here is a MicroVax complete with VMS OS.

Erm, trying to think of a funny response - perhaps playing on the second hull thing - but just can't. Nope, still nothing.

Oh I agree. The voices in your head are plenty!

Re: Sock Puppets
I had also never heard the term sock puppets before; and as to voices in one's head, well, sometimes they are the only ones I have to talk to late at night.
