Signing on to a Crew

What is expected of a unpaid Crew member and the boats obligation to him?

Re: Signing on to a Crew

Nothing is "expected" at all, except perhaps the expectations you bring with you. When it is unpaid, there are no rules. It is just whatever you work out between you and the owner/skipper of the boat. So be sure that your communications are perfectly clear, and both of you understand what the other expects. Then you can decide if you want to go with the deal or not.

Good luck.

Re: Signing on to a Crew

Thanks for the reply.
I am looking to sail again but not as a owner / captain. Never sailed open or blue water. Not sure I would now unless the right equipped situation presents itself. Rather I'm looking to sail by the day as crew/ company and berth at the marina by night or on the hook. I owned a 27 O'Day and single-handed mostly, but when with company / crew had a great experience.
So I'm putting this out here.If anyone that wants a 62 year young man with some sailing experience to sail with and are sailing in and around the Miami area let's talk. I live in Colombia but am willing to take time to sail. I'm retired and in need of other activities that I love doing.
If this is something that sounds good to you please get in touch with me here.
Thanks for your time.
Todd
