Around 15-20 years ago, there was a 26 foot sailing boat in Kuala Belait river, Brunei Darussalam named Shimoda. Now in 2017, I have rescue the sailing boat from a swamp and now i am conducting a life saving renovation.

In order to do these, I need to gather as much information as possible on the boat's history in heritage. All I have to work with is LOA, Draft, Beam and couple of photo attached. I do not have any idea of the rig or rigging points. She was built with a single cylinder Volvo panther diesel engine complete with sail drive unit and two blade prop.

I would be be most grateful for any information to help me with the design in order for me to pursue my dream.

That's a project boat for sure!

Is there no evidence on the outside of the hull as to where the chainplates were attached? If you can find them, you can probably work out the mast height by making a scale drawing, then projecting the mast up perpendicular to the earth, then the length of the side wire to the chain plate, and voila, you have two congruent triangles, and given the lengths, can work our the degrees of the included angles, and so forth. It's high school geometry, and you can do it. However, let's hope someone comes along and can just give you the numbers, it'll be easier, but given some scrap paper, you can work out most of what you need, I think. [Using graph paper to make scale drawings has helped me on many projects.] Anybody out there should feel free to point out where i have gone wrong, if I have.

Thank you very much for the info. My papa told me that this boat was owned by canadian guy till he gave to my papa...Then papa got to sell it as he got nowhere to put it and a singaporean guy bought it from papa...I really appreciate the help..Thank you
