Off topic I know, but what is a night mate? Why would an expat be preferable, and why couldn't you go ashore without one? If you're referring to prostitutes just forget I posted this question.

Re: Share some age progression pictures

Deck Officers that still hold a valid license to babysit (night mate) your vessel while you go ashore and relax. Seems in Thailand, there are a lot of licensed expats available, I wonder why? lol

Re: Share some age progression pictures

Was at it pretty quick:

still after me:

sailing came before walking :

until I got camouflaged beyond recognition:

which lead to even bigger guns:

until the cars got me in trouble again and even married in the end:

but found my home shortly later:

which brings us to parties in paradise like Trinidad:

not only my shoes got bigger:

but still exploring, currently in the jungles of Central America:

ciao!
Nick.

The years pass like grains of sand through the hour glass ... more like the hairs on my head! Ok. First up 1978 is the year. I'm the fella on the right.

And in 2011 I'm still on the right. Note the other fella's still playing the same guitar he was playing in the first photo. We actually didn't have any rehearsals in the ensuing years but we did change hair stylists.

About the same vintage as the first shot:

And 2011. I'm the old guy. The young fella is the prodigal son.

What does that make me? A fossil? I think our family car has a few years on that 2CV. Back in the day before P-tex or co-fix ski bases. At least the picture is color even if our ski bottoms weren't.

A bit further back in time.

Re: Share Some Age Progression Pictures

I'm still waiting for age progression pictures on atoll, Capt Mike, zeehag, sandcrab, btrayfors, sarafina, SaucySailoress, I just realized if I try and name them all, then if I leave someone out, that wouldn't be good, so, you guys know if we have connected on some level, how about a peek into your past, sorted and all.

OK, I'll play along!

Around one year old:
Yes I have been buried at the beach while my parents take photos and the tide comes in. Kinda explains a lot.

Re: Share Some Age Progression Pictures

How did you let that sail get away from you? Great pictures, you back in Florida?

Re: Share Some Age Progression Pictures

Ah Bob, my first ever attempt at sailing, once again my Mother capturing my shame for all to see. LOL I did get better, but it was a very slow process that summer. That picture and the one of me sitting on the floating dock were at my Aunt Mary's and Uncle Bill's. At the mouth of Soldier Creek, just off of Perdido Beach, Ala. The rest were in Daytona or Miami, Growing up in Fl. we did them both a lot. And the last was in the Bahamas.

I've been on your blog, learning about monster wakes, buzzing PWCs and shooting the pass on a high current draw bridge while some Gomer rows across the channel, the joys of the ICW. Left your blog's page up in the background to listen to your tunes after hearing "rolling a fattie".
