Seeking Catamaran 40+

Hi! I'm Fallon, the voice and videographer behind our social on Ocean Trippin'. We started Ocean Trippin' so our friends and family could follow our journey as we prepare to buy a sailing catamaran and become full-time cruisers sailing around the world with our two kids (13 & 8).

We've looked at a couple catamarans but missed out on making offers. It feels like the ones in our price range (80K - 150K) are being scooped up faster than we can be altered by Yacht World. If anyone has suggestions on other places to look we would very much appreciate any advice.

You can read more about our journey and our background on our website www.oceantrippin.com. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

How long have you been looking? There are very few catamarans that are in good enough condition to make ocean crossings in your price range to begin with.

Fallon,
I hope you are not doing this in order to make youtube videos and fund your adventure this way. It's fine for adults, but bringing two pre-teen children on such a journey is reckless, IMO.

Thanks for the reply! No we're not looking to fund our journey through social media. We're going to use the cat for charters for a year or so out of our hometown in FL. So we were hoping to find one in FL, the East Coast of the US, or BVIs so we do not have to leave our kids for too long to get it back here.

My apologies I should have mentioned that we're looking for 4 berths. We've been seriously looking since May, but planning this for about 10 years, we wanted our kids to be a little older to mak ocean crossings. We've only been able to get time away from work on a weekend here or there and more locally. The shape of the boats and price so far have not equaled out for the amount of work and updating they need to still be in our price range. We have talked about financing options if we find the "right" one, but we haven't found her yet. That is why we were reaching out to the sailing community for other search options or suggestions for other ways to track her down.
