We have Island 44 applied professionally two years ago in Tortola. My waterline 3 inches and leading edge of the rudder
were pretty clean by the time we reached Chaguaramos, Trinidad this past June. The rest of the boat
was still coated and totally clean without any scrubbing. I can’t recall
if there is a recommended primer/tie coat.
My experience with several bottom paints was to apply a bit thinned and in several thinner coats. I think even the harder Island 44 is soft and does not stand up to much abuse. Another application to be applied at Power Boat
