Long and short of it. I had my boat hauled out and blocked for Florence. Florence unleashed some 85+winds and gusts 100+, I walked the yard every 2 hours tightening stands, taking down canvas.
One sailboat went down, it was blocked, 10 stands and chained. A 55' Hatteras was on the way down having 2 bent stands, 3 fallen stands, about 20" gap on the windward. I replaced 2 as the boat was listing. I'm sure the domino effect would have take 2 or 3 others had it fell.
I'm only curious to know whether there would be a reward or claim.

Not sure about a reward, but perhaps a medal for working under that in the middle of a storm. Sadly looking at the boat name I don't hold much hope of a reward from the owner.

Some folks would say thank you and take you out to a good dinner. These days? MORE folks would turn around and sue you, claiming you somehow caused the failures, or failed to give THEIR boats enough attention.

I think it is the Japanese who say that once you have saved someone's life, you are forever after responsible for it?
