Any truth to this?
When a hurricane is approaching I'm not so sure the "night" axiom works in all cases:
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: EARL: RED SKYS AT NIGHT SAILORS DELIGHT?

but, a red sky at morning I take that a little more seriously:
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: EARL: RED SKY IN MORNING SAILORS TAKE WARNING

Re: Sailing sayings

Yes we do. Many will splice the main brace when the sun's o'er the yardarm, or whenever they have an excuse to celebrate with friends visiting the boat while in port. Of course, the old men o war would have their grog issue during the day.

Our was almost as embarassing.

Wife called marina with draft, etc.

Marina gives us our berth

This is not the first time at this marina, but haven't been there in 6 weeks. The assigned slip is one of the furthest from the showers (and bars)

Call marina request slip we stayed in last visit.

Asst. Dock Master seems puzzled, but says "ok".

I make perfect approach to slip..... and stop 5ft from the dock, with the donk still running ahead.

A.D.M. is standing on the dock in tears.

Ohhh I went through that. I had three groups of people making three sets of suggestions, all of them bad.

Our marinas have a lot in common!

At least the sandy bottom in both the Chessie and Tampa area is nice and soft!

Re: Sailing sayings

"Red Right Return" will put you on the rocks in Europe, Asia, or So'West Pacific.

Outside North American, upon approach, we line up our Nav lights red/green with the buoy colours or lights.

Gonna have to check before we head to Central or South America...
