The channels that show people actually sailing don't do as well. The ones with the nicely maintained boats don't have nearly as many subscribers as the "clutzes" who can't seem to wash the deck down without a major mechanical system failure and a MOB drill conducted like the keystone cops are aboard.
Most channels are sailing in the Caribbean or south Pacific. Those places are **** hot. Would you rather see people bundled up and sweating profusely so they don't bother you? Oddly Sailing Uma aren't showing much skin in Norway right now. i guess they listened to you.

Aside from all the failures of seamanship that have been minimized and ignored by most, this is a case of saying money received would be used for a particular purpose, and then saying after the money was donated, nope, not gonna use it for that. And that is fraud. Fraud is against the law, and it would be to everyone's benefit if the perpetrator were held accountable. He's probably laughing all the way to the bank.

I fully agree this guy is a fraud. He should be in jail for doing this, not cashing checks.

Nor do all the cleavage shots. 3/4 or more of his content is click bait.

Couldn't agree more with you.

Some comments on the PPV fire video speculated it was an "insurance job" to get rid of the boat. Hard to take the "Oh, woe is me, I need $$ to fix my boat" from someone who is making (from Youtube video/analytics analysis) something in the range of $168K to $338K/year. He's got a talent I certainly don't have and making videos may not be easy work but "I'm poor, please help me-give me some money" followed by a "this is the new boat, a 52' Hatteras" power boat video is a bit more than I can accept/stomach.

I could not agree more. I simply cannot understand why someone would just abandon the boat that needed some work and $$ but was otherwise a fine vessel, to just go and spend what could have been the repair $$ on a new vessel after begging for money to fix what he already had. Just a con, which now is neither sailing nor has any doodles. Now it is just a T&A show on a powerboat.

As a matter of fact, I own a CT-56, which is what he has / had. And, it makes me sick that he isn't fixing the hoses and wires which were ruined. His subscribers would pay for the parts / equipment that was lost, he's just too lazy to get down there in the bilge (where I was this weekend - fixing my bilge pumps), to replace the ruined things. So, he's letting a beautiful boat go to hell for no good reason at all.
Not to mention, he should have informed his insurance company that he needed coverage in USA, instead of the Caribbean, where he was covered. THAT was a stupid / lazy / idiot mistake.
If he focused his efforts and worked on the things that were ruined, I'll bet he could have that boat ship shape in a month. He's a moron and I have zero respect for him.

Re: Sailing Doodles fire

I watched the last couple episodes of Sailing Doodles on his Hatt 52. He's right that there aren't many well produced YT channels targeting powerboaters. His approach probably won't find a lot of traction. I personally found the approach lacked maturity. Was sort of emblematic of the ugly powerboater.

Re: Sailing Doodles fire

I started watching his videos right from the start, I think his second or third video. I met and had a few beers with him and Lara when they were here in San Diego (they were in my marina). I have been a Patron for a few years but this move to power boat caused me to cancel my patron $$$

If he would just conduct himself as a real Captain, i.e., get his hands dirty taking care of his boat (the sailboat / CT56) that he walked away from while still asking people to send him $$$, I'd wish him all the success in the world with his video / blog enterprise. But, after the damages from wrapping his anchor rode around his prop, he showed his true colors.... threw away a beautiful sailboat that deserved to be fixed and tried to milk it for $$$ from other people. So, I hope everyone cancels sending him money and he grows up to take responsibility for his world, as a Captain should.

TRIED to milk it for $$$$??????.....He actually DID! Boobie's deception netted him enough $$$$ for a VERY expensive EXTENDED 52 'Hatteras that he's already plowed significant money into for upgrades.

The fact that Boobie still has sponsors and a fan base willing to throw money at him is incredible.

That is incredibly disgusting. First, that he asked, but then, that people gave it to him. While the beautiful lady: the CT56 goes to hell..... That is the ultimate obscenity. Only 12 CT-56s were made. That he disrespected, abused and finally trashed such a fine sailboat is obscene.
