Unhappy S and L anchor windless

I just received a used S and L hyspeed in pieces in a box. The owner said its all complete. The parts seem to be there and it looks srtight forward to reassemble. The problem is what way do the sprockets go. They are one way turning only and hard to get in and lined up, I only want to do this once. I cannot find any info on them except the owners manual, with just operating info.
Does anyone know which way the sprockets go? Does the port spin forward or back, same for the Stanford. Any ideas

Yes thank you., Do you know the rotation direction of the pulleys? Port forward starboard backward? Or opposite. Thanks for any info.

Re: S and L anchor windless

The sprocket gears both turn the main shat in the same direction because the chain for the inner one moves it on the forward stroke while the outer one moves it on the back stroke that's why the inner chain one loops around the pins and engages the aft side of the inner sprocket

Re: S and L anchor windless

our gears are all ok
however the oil leaked from the gear box last winter....Michigan Winter!
any suggestions about fixing and/ or getting it out of our Jeanneau 40DS to have it serviced...

went last season without, as my captain tried to figure it out.....not going to be so patient this summer....

thanks

Re: S and L anchor windless

Just unbolt it take it into your shop take it apart , clean all the parts replace the gaskets and if necessary the bushings and reassemble it. It's really not complicated. Oh and refill it with oil!
