Yes and given the mess in Iraq, the french made a very wise decision,
I notice little press was given in the US that while the Brits backed out of Syria , the french didn't and were prepared to act if the US acted.
really Scoobert , lets no descend in racial stereotypes. Ive have to start making red neck jokes or something

the population of the US don't want to go into Syria.
we do not care about them killing each other.
we are too broke for more wars.
and green pieces screwing with oil drilling is hurting us.

When your subsidies stop and you start paying EU prices you can squeal about pain...
Anyway... I thought you guys were bragging about being self sufficient these days..

I doubt it, nor would all theses who died especially the huge civilian deaths agree with you
as Winston Churchill said
" you can always rely on the Amercians doing the right thing, after they have tried everything else first"

I know you and many of your fellow country men are better informed then that
over 125,000 civilian casualties from the resulting invasion and occupation of Irag alone, To suggest these would have died anyway is deeply insulting to any examination of what happened. Furthermore the resulting instability in Iraq will and is causing further deaths for years to come.
Ultimately the very actions taken will result in a religious hegemony stretching over the persoan gulf and North Africa into the middle and far north east. A religious hegemony that the US is primarily responsible for starting quite frankly
ALl over mythical WMDs. seriously lets not defend the indefensible. Countries make mistakes, this was one of them ( and Afghanistan)
AT least with Syria, cool sense prevailed in the end ( and of course the Russians played a blinder and pulled a fast one)

i do not care about WMD's. if they said they were going in to keep oil cheep, count me in.
sadam was killing people all over the place, and would have kept feeding people into his wood chipper if he stayed in power. and no, i could care less about a holy war that has been going on for 3500 years. they have been killing each other, they will keep killing each other.
125,000 fatalities is well worth it, until natural gas becomes our major fuel in the US and our ally's, then they can go back to goat herding in the middle east.
very few care. and most that do care do not want $20 a gallon petrol.
i am just one of the honest few who will not pretend.
