Rubrail rubbed through to deck / composting head

My little Aquarius Pilot Cutter survived Hurricane Irma Cat 4 on a floating dock In Key West before I purchased her but did sustain some damage. Her rub rails and gunnel were rubbed through to the decking in places some 3’-5’ worth and a hole rubbed through her hull on the port side. She has a shoe-box deck to hull joint. Looking for advice on the best way to repair her for blue-water service. Was thinking about glassing deck to Hull and building up the gunnel about 4” forward of the cockpit. Any knowledgeable folk out there with suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Anyone with experience having a composting head on board love to hear what you think of yours. Looking to change out to add fresh water tankage instead of hauling sewage around. Not sure if it’s a good idea or not.

Both of these are good ideas.

You can definitely glass the hull to deck joint as that’s the superior way to do it. As for composting heads, I made a temporary test one for under $100 last year and it’s absolutely amazing. Best head I’ve ever owned. Zero smell. All marine heads reek until you get used to the stink. This is absolutely zero smell. Dealing with urine is the only downside.

1 vote for C Head.
There are differences between the ones on the market. I don't have the same complaint about dealing with urine.
Life gets easier if your don't target composting. Just desiccating.
