Our ancient Givens
Liferaft was beyond repacking, a problem as we have a fine
cradle on the stern which we wished to re-use yet are spooked by rumored
delivery problems at Givens. Not much else seemed to fit.
We found just the thing at the
Newport boat show. We chose a Winslow 6 person in a hard case, which is almost a light as the valise (they have far more size and shape options than we expected).
We can re-use the old Givens outer case to hold our new raft, with room to spare for things that we want to have handy in case we need to abandon ship.
Not to
plug any firm, but the Winslow fellow at the boatshow was extremely helpful in making the most of the space we had. The raft itself is great, and the
price was more than fair.
