refrigerator

Hi all I'm going on a month long cruise this winter. I want a set some kind of new ice box which will hold meat in it for at least that long. Or should I invest in a freezer? I am have 4 deep cycle battery banks along with 450 Watt solar panels. Any suggestions. From here would be helpful. Thanks

Re: refrigerator

Engel makes a line of chest type, 12V compressor cooled boxes that plug into a ciggarette lighter socket.

Re: refrigerator

Hi seadog2, Yes I would back up David. The Engel chest type fridge freezer is perfect for your needs. They are made in Australia, have great after sales servce, do not use much power. you can set the coldness down to about minus 15 c.

Re: refrigerator

Or else get your market to vacuum pack the meat - it will stay good for a month easily at just frig temps

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"
