Playing Matchmaker for a girlfriend. SF bay area.
I have a friend, who broke up with her boater boyfriend a year or two ago. I told her I would see if I could find a guy with a boat for her. How hard can it be.
First, this is NOT for me. But for my friend, well lets call her Jane. Jane is in her 50's, brown hair, brown eyes, 5'-4” ish. She's attractive, and dresses well. A great personality, very outgoing. She is a senior mangier and owns her own condo. She would love a new boyfriend who has a boat. She loves the delta and being on the water.
She's a non smoking, but likes wine, and mixed drinks. More a powerboater, but I don't think she would turn down a sailboat either.
So here's the deal, I told her I would see if I could find her a new boyfriend and also vet the guys before passing them on to her email.
So if your in the San Francisco Bay area and your looking for a woman who seriously loves boating, PM me with two photos of the boat, one inside and one outside, and a photo of yourself and a little description about yourself. I will pass them on to “Jane”. No that's not her real name. This is up and up and all information with be kept confidential.

Hey SC, nice engineering approach to a social problem !
If I were single and back in the SFB I would be intrigued.
Good luck to Jane.

Funny. Maybe you should open a niche cyber-dating site. "Men, are you tired of going fishing by yourselves???"

Sounds like the boat is much more important than the man and the man is just needed to drive and take care of the boat. Maybe someone should just get a boat for themselves

Actually the boat idea was mine, not Jane's. I figure if the boat was clean then the guy might be a better fit. Plus she's use to 35+ foot powerboats. She does not what her own boat, but to share the adventure. She is a very nice lady who needs a bit more fun in her life.

I had that Idea too. The problem is there just are not that many women interested in boating. I do know another 30 year old that's just starting sailing, who does not have a steady boyfriend. She's an ex-coastie and very active. 5'-8", athletic, Not the girl next door, but attractive.

Not a problem Boatie. Though I think, Jane may like something a little less go fast. The boat that is.

So we take a shot in the dark here - only fair we get to see what she looks like, since she apparently finds looks important, don't you think?

Re: Playing Matchmaker for a girlfriend. SF bay area.
LOL, No. I find looks important. That is, I'm acting as a gatekeeper so only guys I approve of get passed on to Jane. If you like, I will not send your photo on.
No it's not fair, but then there are so few women actually interested in boating, that we can be a bit picky.
Jane is a lovely woman with a spunky outgoing lifestyle. A woman that would not be out of place at a yacht club party or fishing.

Good luck to Jane, SC. I can imagine her plight.
Your offer of help is nice. Be a cautious gatekeeper though.

If she's the athletic type, maybe she can help me get in shape.

I think the boat needs to be a tad bigger. That's just a little dinghy
