There are two issues at play here.
One is the boat on the beach.
The second is the owner's chosen lifestyle.
There are a lot of people coming together to move the boat. Some have been working since Sunday to lighten the load. The owner is not doing himself any favors by his actions, and it is unknown if he will even be present due to some altercation he got in that ended up with him in a VA hospital. There is little doubt his lifestyle choices contributed to that.
The boat will be rescued. The owner? He needs to rescue himself, and if he makes sincere efforts, I suspect there will be people who will help him with that. I have the sense the owner will not end up being rescued... sad, but that is life.

Re: Pitch In And Help
More press on Steve and the boat move on Wednesday:
Want to help pull a boat off Gulfport Beach on Wednesday?
Including a cameo by Steve looking significantly salty with his protective head gear. I know I speak for a lot of folks here on CF who have been following this saga and wishing for a successful out come tomorrow. Sending good vibes down the coast and hoping for good news on the boat move!

I'm sorry you feel this way. I found 99.9% of the threads to be very positive and only a few with concerns, 1 negative. That's not bad considering how many view this thread. I don't find this disgusting at all- people have the right to disagree with what's being done. Even someone who had concerns will be there to help. That is amazing! American's have been there with time and money for most every disaster-around the world.
If you were grounded in California I would be there to help you. Just as with the number of people helping Capt. Jay.
Kindest Regards, Gloria
The rest- Best of Luck tomorrow!!

Knot...my main goal is to buy you a few beers some day very soon. Thanks for your example.

FWIW, some of us a watching from the other side of the world and wishing you the best of luck and good fortune in moving the boat back into (slightly?) deeper water.
