Outer Banks vs Florida Emerald Coast

Hello all,

Wife and I are in the last two years before retirement. We have been looking at the Outer Banks and the Emerald Coast (Pensacola to Appalachicola). How is the sailing in those areas? The plan is to have a 20-25' daysailer to start. Any general comments would be appreciated.

Re: Outer Banks vs Florida Emerald Coast

The sailing is good on the Florida Emerald coast -- good winds, a fair amount of shallow water, sugar white sand. The big bonus is the significantly longer season.

When you need some "culture", you're only a few hours from the Big Easy.
