Off into the wild blue yonder...

Greetings, Flying Pig Log enthusiasts!

It's been a year since we were in blue water, but barring any last-minute surprises, we'll be leaving Fort Pierce FL Thursday morning, boarding the Gulf Stream Express, and heading north.

If all goes well, we'll get off the train and go a bit slower, east of both Long Island and Cape Cod, heading north of Portland to - we hope - cruise Maine for our first time.

If things get squirrely in our twice-a-day consultation with our weather guy, we'll bail out and go on the Intra-Coastal Waterway as needed.

Once weather cools, or Labor Day likely latest, we'll head south, coastally, to visit many places we enjoyed last time we were there, new ones as recommended by so many of our cruising buddies, and to meet up, perhaps, with new friends who know us from our writings but have never seen us in the flesh.

tinyurl.com/FlyingPigSpotwalla (upper or lower case works). It will show - once we're under way and sending our regular 10-minute-interval satellite signals - where we are, and where we've been. To look backward at our trip, in the event the screen presentation doesn't show our start, you can click the drop-down menu with our name in it, and adjust the time frame as needed, including last year's trip which ended in our rushing back to deal with Dorian.

So, consider this a float plan; aside from some interesting technical stuff most would not have available to them, you can assume that if you didn't read about us in the news, we're fine.

Meanwhile, both we and our weather guru Chris Parker are keeping a close eye on PTC9 - Potential Tropical Cyclone ("hurricane") #9 this year. If you see our track dive for the coast, it's to go inland during that blow.
