In response to a topic posted in "Rules and Regulations" by Atoll with the intent to explain the situation in political terms ,I have posted my remarks in "Our Community" where an open discussion is allowed by the Forum rules. Governments that impose excessive taxation are always governments that are fiscally unsound. They target special interest groups that they believe are capable of paying the tax irrespective of its consequence. These
taxes are rarely fair, but the
government is grasping for straws. In the special case of
South Africa, they were a vibrant and sound economy until US president Clinton imposed an embargo against them for "apartheid." The result was the election of a former Communist, Nelson Mandela, who under his leadership helped destroy their civilization as it previously existed and created a pathway to the present corrupt leadership of Jakob Zuma, another Communist who has been instrumental in their decline and a person who has been charged with rape, corruption, racketeering, polygamy as well as other offenses to his office. Johannesburg, once a thriving economic metropolis is a decaying city that boasts one of the highest murder rates in the world. South African farmers are being assaulted and murdered and their farms confiscated and decent South African people in both cities and rural areas fear for their lives on a daily basis. How does this happen in a civilized world? Because the
government has destroyed civilization as the South Africans knew it and the government is going broke. I have met many South Africans during my travels and they are, to a man, exceptionally decent people. They have had the country they built taken away by Communist thugs who practice far greater racism than ever was the case during apartheid. New tax on boaters in
South Africa? This is just the tip of the iceberg. Take a look at the following article.
