My New Drunk Friends

We have these new boat neighbors, really nice guys. We like them a lot in spite of the fact that they're always drunk.
I'm not saying that they drink often, we're talking buzzed in the morning and drunk at night. Tequila with breakfast never hurt anyone, right?
They have many fine stories.
Out of last night's vespers came one of the best.
They were sailing all day up in Washington, drinking rum. In the evening they came to a quiet cove to anchor in. They went down below and passed out. A couple of hours later one of them went on deck to take a leak. He stumbled over to the rail to fly his flag and the boat fell over!
You see, they had, in their drunkenness forgotten one thing. They both forgot to drop the anchor.
The tide went out.
The boat sat, balanced on the heavy full keel until he un-balanced it by moving his weight to one side and BAM! they were surprised.
The tide came back in 6 hours later and the boat floated right and well and took on no water.

Re: My New Drunk Friends

Is that a sea story, or a fairy tale?

Re: My New Drunk Friends

Well, I know for sure that the one was annoyed with the other for having told that story, apparently they had agreed not to share the details of that one.

Re: My New Drunk Friends

To make up for missing hours of drunkenness, sometimes a story is as good as what really happened.
